## Checkout quick start

1. Read the checkout guide and choose testing or buying. Real money settlement is not available today.
2. For testing, call tools/list on https://api.trusteed.xyz/demo-store/mcp/discovery, then call create_sandbox_key there.
3. Use https://api.trusteed.xyz/demo-store/mcp/checkout with that key to create a cart. create_cart does not need a payment mandate.
4. For demo-store, send a six-claim X-Payment-Mandate or payment_mandate tool argument to the checkout tools that spend or settle (preview_checkout, complete_checkout, process_agent_payment, complete_visa_payment, ucp_complete_checkout); see [the mandate schema](/.well-known/payment-mandate.schema.json).
5. Preview the cart, then record demo confirmation through POST https://api.trusteed.xyz/api/v1/demo/checkout-approval before completing a non-zero cart with MOCK.
6. That confirmation endpoint does not verify human presence. Read error.data.code and its remediation if any step fails.
